Actually, the term "Patient Journey" is too short: there is neither THE patient nor does he travel alone. And Patient Journeys are also not always researched and processed in the same way.
The aim of the GIM Patient Journey is therefore to research complex relationship patterns between the various patients, their course of disease, the HCPs involved and other influencing factors such as family or the Internet, to condense them and make them tangible for our customers.
Fields of application
We have already used the GIM Patient Journey in many different areas. The most important fields of application are:
- communication development
- product positioning
- target group definition
- field service strategy
- media planning
- Typing & segmentation: development of meaningful patient and decision types as well as journey curves that can be quantified
Toolbox
GIM Patient Journey is based on qualitative methods to uncover deeper structures, emotions and needs. In this respect, in addition to all classic qualitative approaches, methods are used, among others for:
- Biographical narrative conversation
- Ethnographic tools
- Preparatory diaries (paper-pencil, online, smartphone app)
- Analytical visualization of the medical history (e.g. as poster)
- Our goal is a 360° approach in which not only patients but also other stakeholders such as relatives and HCPs have their say, depending on the issue at hand.
We also offer quantification of the qualitatively determined structures: from singular facts to complex processes such as decision-making or information behaviour over time.
